New Materials Available for Your Practice
Did you know that Vital Nutrients offers ample educational materials for your practice? Our patient brochures are a great way to clarify the importance of Quality Control in supplements, our product sheets provide basic information about specific products, and our notepads and pens are useful in any office. We supply these materials to our customers free of charge. If you need materials for your office call, email, or just fill out the materials request form.
New Connecticut Sales Tax
Connecticut lawmakers recently passed legislation that includes a new sales tax on nearly all products and services as of July 1, 2011. Among the list of goods and services affected by the new sales tax are non-prescription drugs, vitamins and dietary supplements. These products will no longer be exempt from CT sales tax. The rate of the new tax is 6.35%. If you resell these products, you will need to provide a copy of your resale certificate from the State of Connecticut to avoid being charged sales tax. The state government requires you to charge, collect, account for and remit the taxes from all your supplement sales at the expense of patient’s health. Please send us a copy of your resale certificate prior to, or at the time of, your first order placed on or after July 1, 2011.
If you are in our Patient Direct Program, Vital Nutrients is required to charge the new sales tax on Connecticut patient orders beginning July 1, 2011.
As Connecticut residents ourselves, we understand the implications of the new tax on both businesses and consumers and hope our advance notification will provide both patients and practitioners the opportunity to stock up on supplements prior to its imposition.
