Unlike in-house labs, which operate solely for the employing company, third party labs often serve hundreds of clients. Third party labs are subject to their own regulations and audits from independent certification agencies, such as ISO 17025 or the USDA, which ensure ethical laboratory practices are followed. Our labs staff internal Quality Assurance departments, follow established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and comply with GLPs (Good Laboratory Practices).
Third party labs provide objective results since accurate results are crucial for both their accreditations and business reputation. Furthermore, third party labs have many clients, so they run more assays on a daily basis and have more experience. Third party labs are larger operations outfitted with up-to-date equipment and top of the line materials. Our labs have strict equipment maintenance and calibration schedules that ensure precise results.
The testing protocols at Vital Nutrients encompass a wide range of identity, potency, and purity testing. No single lab could effectively run every assay we require. We source labs that are the leaders in specific types of testing. For example, we use a lab that has been nationally recognized for excellence in vitamin and mineral analysis, a USDA lab that specializes in aflatoxins testing; and another lab that leads the country in analyzing herbicide/pesticide/fungicide residuals. Using one lab would certainly be easier, but doing so would compromise the accuracy of our test results. At Vital Nutrients we never compromise on the potency and purity of our products.
